The world of birds in the AMU Botanical Garden

The project “The World of Birds in the Botanical Garden of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań” was financed by funds from the Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. Foundation under the Santander Universidades program. The project included two-way activities.

For the benefit of visitors, the existing ornithological path has been enlarged with another 10 educational boards depicting bird species found in the Garden. Each of the boards presents a detailed drawing and the most important information about the species, and also allows you to listen to its voice thanks to QR codes.

A series of 5 ornithological educational classes has been prepared for nearly 200 students from 10 elementary schools. Their topics include building, recognition, migration, flight, feeding, singing, breeding season and protection of birds. The several-hour-long meetings have been planned with the use of various teaching methods, so that broadening of ornithological horizons is accompanied by movement in the fresh air and good fun.
